Finally got around to removing the driveshaft andCV joints As suspected, the centre was still attached to the Driveshaft and the ball-bearings were left behind in CV casing amongst the grease.
Before disassembling, we checked for excessive movement on the suspension, ie. front / rear and side to side. No problem found. Does anyone have a "old" XR2 driveshaft that they could provide mesurements from for comparison with mine? I have a replacement CV Joint on order - should get it next week.
