Welcome, my 2+2 is around 5 inches from the bottom of the sill behind the front wheels to the floor and i've got standard XR2 suspension. The front off mine on the drive is 4 inches front the floor(my drive slopes downwards.
The speedo is out because of the wheels you have fitted. Mine is out my 5 mph at low speeds (30 mph) and nearly accurate at high speeds (70 mph) I have 14" alloy wheels fitted. There's less than 5" clearance between the sill and the ground behind the front arch (the tow hook and exhaust being lower still), what is the typical ride height of a 2+2, or an XR2 for that matter? Would new front shocks and springs improve matters? Final niggle for today is the inaccuracy of the speedo. Unfortunately the only time it gets near to being accurate is around 70mph. At below 40mph it's hopeless, recording nothing up to about 15mph and only around 20mph when you're doing 30.
