The 2+2 isn’t supposed to be built using XR2 springs, they should have springs from the lower spec models. Also, on the lower chassis number 2+2’s the rear shocks have to have spacers and special extra long quantum rear springs. I don’t know exactly which chassis number they changed it from but mine is 099 and needs the longer springs, if yours is on;.y 115 then it may well be the same. It’s possible somebody has put standard springs on the rear and then lowered the front to match.
If the speedo only gets accurate at higher speeds then i don’t think it’s anything but the speedo itself. Living in London we have speed bumps large enough to have their own post code which means 4" between the exhaust/gearbox cradle and the road isn't really enough. :( What would be the best way to increase the ride height a little (inch or two)? Would normal fiesta mk2 springs do the trick? Or some other springs? You're quite right my car does have 14" alloys with 185/55s on them, but surely such a large innaccuracy, especially one which resolves further up the dial has to be something else? My speedo doesn't really do anything until 15mph.. It's under-reading by at least 10mph at 30. Is there any way to get it a bit more accurate? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Quantum Owners Group" group.
