The “hockey stick” is what Quantum called the fibreglass moulding that goes
over the top of the quarter light and fixes to the top of the divider.
The "hockey stick is only fixed onto the little triangle section of the door
behind the mirror (if you have electric mirrors), probably with 2 pop rivets or
screws.
But you have to remove the door glass and then the divider and quarter light
glass to get at the fixings.

The hockey stick (the frame?) moves a bit when the windows go up and down so I
doubt it's very well sealed.. Will have to remove the door cards and
investigate as I've been meaning to look at the windows and mirrors for a while
now anyway (drivers mirror doesn't work and the drivers window doesn't seal
properly).

The steering wheel isn't original, there didn't seem to be any kind of locating
peg on the self cancel ring as once the wheel was removed it could be moved
quite freely.

Probably the joint between the "hockey stick" and the door, it might not
have any sealant between the 2 parts, or, it might be like my 2+2 where
the water crept through the small recess at the top of the joint formed
by the radius between the 2 parts, I levelled it off with sealant to
  make it flat.

correct position with the cam facing the indicator at dead ahead.

This should have a lug on the rear that only fits onto the column in one
position, tightening the steering wheel up with the ring in the wrong
  position normally breaks it BTDT.
