Hi Chris, Steve’s car has an EFI injection engine with no distributor. Tacho’s are always feed from the ignition coil on petrol engines with a distributor that i’m aware of. On early DIS systems they are feed from one of the coils and on later cars they have there own signal direct from the EDIS module or the main ECU.
The only time they are feed from the alternator is on a diesel.
