Just trying out some camera settings for a live video patch I am working on and notice that even if I check the de-interlace fields box in the video input patch it will not de-interlace an HDV 1080i input. SD is fine. Is this expected? Sorry if this has been asked a million times.Ok it is true that it seems to de-interlace a bit and is worse without but still has a significant interlacing on all the movement.
This could be a bug in QT's deinterlace code. Can you provide a short sample video? Does this happen outside of Quartz Composer (i.e. in QuickTime) -- I know it's live video and all, so maybe that's not easy to test, but it would help isolate the issue. If you capture your camera's input to a 1080i movie, and play it back, it might be a fair test. You could also test this video in the Movie Loader patch (which also has a deinterlace checkbox), and see if it persists there. If so, it's definitely QT, not QC.
You might also want to ask on [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- it's not quite as responsive as this QC list, but people there know _tons_ more about QT [assuming this is QT-related, which I'm almost certain it is -- the Video Input patch is a pretty lightweight wrapper around QTKit's video input stuff, bugs and all ;) ]
BTW Is thread hijacking allowed on the list? ;-)))
It happens. Though starting your own helps search for stuff later on (and helps the mail archiver guy keep stuff in order) :)
