One could say that. Seeing evaluation stop midstream is ... new. A new way, to bring in a new year, so to speak. It sort of makes sense that if the image isn't valid to the GLSL Environment image input, that said input and the output it's connected to wouldn't have an image at the tooltip, but the fact that the Video Patch still delivers output, and that the Image Texturing Properties gets an input image (but no output) is ... well, it just "is".
