Seeing as we're comparing Edirol and Olympus to some extent, the
Olympus LS-10 is definitely worth a look. Records uncompressed at
44.1/48 K, 2gb internal memory and it's also expandable with sd,
better build quality than the R09, less of a battery hog, less
abbrasive AGC, very decent mp3/WMA encoding should you find yourself
running low on memory and still needing to snag a recording, pretty
quiet with external mics and the internal stereo ones aren't too
shabby though they do lack a bit down low maybe. It won't talk to you
like most of the other Olympus's, but neither will an Edirol or a
Zoom. It's all subjective of course, but for me the LS-10 was the
best for the price range, which surprised me at the time because I'd
never really heard an Olympus and been impressed until then.

Hth someone...
