One of the reasons that time can be a bit of tricky area is that if a false rail is deployed then the shape of the track is changed and even in some cases so is the distance run. False rails are a more likely situation in the wet season.
A better way to use time is to use in combination with weight and look for connections between the runners in the race Gary Miller who I think has a web site www.australianhorseracing.com.au wrote a very useful article a number of years ago on this subject It on his web site and is a very useful read for those who wish to use time as a factor Regards Geof -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of klp_wanganui Sent: 22 June 2005 10:38 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [racebase] Re: Penetrometer readings from August 1 My point being that you seemed very sure that your "opinion" that "Winning times, never have been, and never will be a guide to picking winners in THIS COUNTRY" is factually correct. My reply was tongue in cheek and should not be mistaken as an indication that I wish to debate the issue. If I had I would have stated my case in my reply. I know there are two schools of thought when it comes to times and from experience it is futile trying to change the option of anyone in one camp to that of the other. Just keep pickin' the winners, whichever way work best for you. --- In [email protected], "Lordship" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Sarcasm, I love it > Your point being ???? > Make a valid case > > Lordship Yahoo!
