I'm not particularly concerned one way or the other as to whether I'm
right or wrong. I was just trying to add a perspective to the
conversation that perhaps you hadn't considered.

Probably every product I've ever bought, from a car to a dishwasher,
has been missing a feature or two that I liked (or was better
implemented) in a competitor's version. However, when I looked at the
overall picture, I chose the one I bought in spite of whatever I thought
was a deficiency.

It would be pleasant to have the extra measure of control you advocate
in a whole-house system, but it is not all that important to me. I
rarely listen to music as background, wanting it to follow me from room
to room as I move about the house. I don't throw parties where music is
needed everywhere (in fact it is nice to be able to get away from it at
some events.)

However, that is just me. Other people would prefer something different
as you've illustrated so well.

As for the difficulty of programming, that is for others to decide. I
know the few projects I've done over the years have sometimes left me
wishing I'd made an allowance for this item or that in the very early
stages. However, if it easy, I suspect you'll get your wish. If it is
more complicated for whatever reason, maybe it'll still show up
eventually.

Good luck and hope it works out for you.
