I did as JJZolx suggests for about six months and the Radio alarm never failed me. Except for the one time that the power went out in the neighborhood, and I didn't have the battery for my Radio yet. I am running local SBS, and the Radio was connected via wifi. I've since moved my Radio to my study, but it's not because it wasn't working well as an alarm. But as you've seen, success/failure stories with the Radio alarm are all over the map -- that's why you should try it in your environment, with a backup alarm just in case.
