I wouldn't count on it, the problems have been here since the Radio was
released, they did some improvements a few months after the release but
after that nothing has happened as far as I know.
However, with a local server powered on all the time and a wired
network, you should have a good chance to get it pretty reliable. Just
use a traditional backup alarm clock in the beginning to ensure this
also is the case in your setup.
With a local server, my experience is that you can be pretty sure you
get some sound from it, the problem is that it's sometimes going to be
the default heart attack generating fallback alarm sound and not some
nice sounding music.
If you have problems and isn't satisfied, call Logitech support and
tell them that you aren't satisfied with their product, this might
raise the priority of the issues.
