agree. static IP is more than simply having the same IP address as with
a reservation (as you're also fixing the DNS server).  This said, in
most cases a DHCP reservation (or even doing nothing) works just fine. 
However, I do use static IP addresses on things that don't leave the
house and DHCP reservations for everything else.
