This bug for example .

http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17462

Regarding the reciever (part of duet ) the Ethernet connection
apparently can fail to get DHCP if the gateway is not 192.168.1.1 or
192.168.0.1 .
The exact circumstance i dont know , i'm no network guru either .

its probably some interaction between squeezebox and buggy consumer
grade routers . I can only guess that a computer can have more
workarounds built it to take care of this ?
How many times have you not "repaired" the network on a win laptop (or
forced it to acquire a new ip with ipconfig ) on not so good networks .

For example the other day one of my less used squeezeboxes , due to some
fiddling it was on dhcp :P but i've not cared to corrrect that . I had
to disconnect and reconnect again to the network otherwise it rebuffered
?

Disclaimer I'm thinking of getting a modern router instead of the good
old 54GL (with tomato fw ) I think I start to be outgunned by the
neighbours in the constant wifi ch war you have when living in a
flat/condo/apartment block :)
