 nope i dont think that... - i do know that cause i am a Networker
with some certificate*s* :p 

In Fact if the DHCPServer (Router) and Switch are on the Same System -
its -trouser like jacket- if you using DHCP or not.
Without that System (Switch) nothing can connect to nothing.
And no - just ask someone about some context Man in the Midle and Arp
Spoofing - but thats more oftopic than the "Squeezeboxradio" Topic here
can handle.
