Not really. I think that this group is still a really useful resource for those looking for people or looking for work, primarily because those posting have cross the invisible barrier of "care enough about Ruby to be involved". Most of the job postings in the past have been a cut above the normal - and as somebody who's posted his own ad, so have the candidates.
The problem I have with some of the postings coming through lately is that they're "blind". There's the minimum amount of research performed to determine that the list exists, that it's a good resource for Ruby people, and if you're lucky they've bothered to read the guidelines and have put [JOB] in the title. But, unfortunately, I don't know them from jack. They could be just resume farming. Some have pointed out that they like to know who's hiring: those aren't the emails I'm talking about. I'm talking about the blind, won't-name-the-customer ads. Can we get stricter on the guidelines? Name the customer or keep it to seek? That's valuable. I'm also, as a consequence of people suggesting this to me (you know who you are), volunteering to help moderate the list.
