I learned a definition of "wisdom" a long time ago: "the ability to be at ease in any situation". It might seem glib, but it helps me understand that sweating small stuff is rarely wise ... and that I have a long way to go before i could apply the state of wisdom-hood for myself.
I think the wiser and more experienced heads in this valuable group know instinctively when to "be at ease". We've got guidelines for postings and it's my belief that any attempt to be more stringent will just cause unintended consequences farther down the systemic cycle (a few of which have already been mentioned). This group is a social, organic, living thing. People will sometimes act outside guidelines, People will sometimes get offended about that. It's very hard to legislate against people being people. Reactionary change seems to me to be a lot of chemo for an illness many don't even perceive to be a cancer.
