(RR Vs. BSA)
*I shared what I posted with T328's SPL (RR Sr.Guide position) and he brought it up in a PLC (Patrol leader council) and is going to leave back some of his staff next week as "headknockers" and decorum enforcement<G> IT seems.. what the troop is trying to do is plan ahead of events so that the "event/camp" time, is not done off the cuff, but that the boys know what is needed and expected, to shorten up exactly what I found myself faceing in the meeting..with the younger scouts. Some boys who have not yet discovered that the real "game" is useing Scouting to advance in character.. Use the time to play "thier game" that they use in school and at home to get attention and remain ignorant<G> they use every vice to mock and taunt or outright hit someone right out in the open! This flagrent violation of the Scout Law seems of "little concern to them" for the game is not being a member.. but to be a Hellcat! *They "masterfully" fed me to the tigers<G> *Following reporting to the SPL.. (not the Scoutmaster BTW) I was encouraged, and the SPL staff gave me a great resource for next week's meeting.. What's the real difference between RR and BSA? ---------------------------------------------- *Not much<G> ...and of what is different, it isn't found in young boys<G> The "difference" I discovered on day two, was that there was a plan in place, and I had resources availible to come back and do "better" next week. *All that did.. was restore my confidence and re-kindle MORALE ..that as we know is the index of effective Leadership!
