I believe that $50 is really high. The only thing you will definitely need for the boys is the new name tab.
You will need the new workbooks and handbooks, but you could probably choose the workbook over the hand book and get a new commanders guide for yourself. Other wise all the rest of the stuff can be acquired over time. As far as the cost of camps, I've always felt we should have a sliding scale for families, like the tuition breaks for multiple children...
