ha ha-did I call you Diane?! I must have been half asleep. Sorry bout
that!!! What with the DOC-your initials?

My wife, who is a teacher for over 30 years agrees with what you said,
Duane.
A boy doesn't know the real value of the dollar anyway so it is kind a lost
on him. Even though 100.00 can buy a lot of candy it tends to be lost on
them. They appreciate one piece at a time.
Acheivements are different than merits so it depends what they are being
rewarded for. I encourage them in their advancements by giving them an
inexpensive pocket knife for earning the bowie knife and a hatchet for the
tomahawk, a RR beret for advanced. Anything more expensive is like casting
pearls before swine. It would break my heart to give a boy a Ranger buck
knife and find out that they lost it before the next meeting. It happens.

You know its almost funny in a way.

I thought that this list is intended for open discussion on Ranger topics
and that everyone has valid input.
"Please don't put someone down just because you don't think the same way you
do."
A RR is Courteous-even to each other.
Besides I have heard of only 4 people reply to this topic-not 100. They are
all probably lurking in the back ground trying to keep from being scolded or
criticized for their ideas.
I value everyones ideas, even if I don't agree with them, because it may
just happen to add balance in my outpost and caution me what to watch out
for.
