Kelly,
I'll add my two-cents to Duane's quarter.
Possibility #1. The person who was to give the "tongues"
did not do so for some inexplicable reason, such as: fear .
. . or . . . fear . . . or . . . fear. Fear of "man", fear
of self, fear of fear. Anyway, for whatever reason (excuse)
the "tongues" person did not yield; you, the
"interpretations" person, yielded so God used you.
Possibility #2. What you gave was a "word of knowledge".
>From my !limited! experience a "word of knowledge" is like
the "interpretations" without the "tongues". A "word of
knowledge" can be to a person,
like: "RangerTP you need to break down
the wall around your heart". I hadn't hardened my heart,
but I had put up a wall around it, like Jericho, wide enough
for chariot races. God's love was pouring in but wasn't able
to, even, leak out. These are specific "words of knowledge"
for me.
A "word of knowledge" can be for a
group, a corporate body like your church. We've had a few
for our church body recently. This is something that your
Pastor should be able to discern. If in doubt approach the
Pastor, then or later, as he so directs, tell him what God
is saying to you, then it is for your Pastor to determine
whether you speak or keep silent. You must submit to your
Pastors' authority or the flow may stop, temporarily or
permanently. . So, with your husband in tow, if need be,
speak with your Pastor. And never never never stop speaking
with God, He will lead you correctly, with confirmation, by
. . . whatever means in which your relationship with Him
is grounded. He deals with everyone uniquely (I'm glad I
don't have to be His social secretary), but, yet, with the
same great, warm love for all.
Sorry to be so long winded. There are many fine minds on
RangerNet. I certainly do not claim to have superior
knowledge. There can be and are other possibilities.
We're now at twenty-seven cents, almost enough for a cup of
coffee. Anyone else willing to venture forth?

Subject: [RR] confusion about giving a word
|Hello All:
|
|I have a question that really isn't RR business, but is
important to me
|personally. A few months ago I was blessed with the gift
of interpretation.
|It's still very new and definitely not fully understood by
me.
|
|Last Sunday I got a word. It was not in tongues. I know
it was from God
|because I always pray when this happens that the Lord will
be with me and not
|let anything of me or the world come through. I want very
much to be in line
|with God. No word was given in tongues, so this was not an
"interpretation."
|I felt compelled to give it. The same thing happened in
the evening service.
|
|No one said anything to me except my husband later at home
when we were
|sharing about our day. He said I should have waited for
the message in
|tongues to come and then given the interpretation. I had
waited and I had
|prayed before I gave the word that was given to me.
|
|I'm very confused. At other times I've heard a word given
by someone else in
|service when there had been no message given in tongues.
|
|Can anyone out there give me some help in clearing this up.
I only want to be
|in line with God. I wish to be a vessel to be poured out.
I would not do
|anything to endanger what God has given.
|
|God Bless you all and thank you for being patient with me.
I know how
|ignorant this may sound to some of you
