*I'm going to need MPJ to bail me out of this one as I have a mixed heritage of
this issue. In 1942 my Dad declared CO (*coniciencious objection status) on
being drafted in WW2.. It was his contention that "killing the enemy" was not
the
thing a nice Christain Assemble of God boy should do.. In truth he had profound
differences, yet was able to bridge them to become a Medic and carry a sidearm
to defend the life of his charge if not his own.

Later in 1969 the Vietnam war was at a fever pitch and the CO subject returned..

Little... and I mean zip point zero was said about objection to Military
service,
in my AG church. from what I understood declareing CO status would not
bring condemnation or support by your fellowship of belevers as some faiths
provide.

The USA currently does not require Universal service...

and Desert Storm arrived so fast that it was run out of Reserve and active duty
service personal..

Thanks to God we never had to face the war you trained to fight..!

*Moral conviction sometimes leads to un-popular standards one must take.

The research isn't that hard but the result may be.. In extream cases some have
gone to prision.
