Guys - PLEASE take this backchannel and off Rangernet. I've subscribed for
a long time (mostly silently), and I'm about ready to unsubscribe if it's
going to be used to facilitate an argument between two folks about the
virtues and weaknesses of each of their outposts. Some of the posts are
getting very personal and critical, bordering on character assaults. Newer
subscribers might get the wrong idea and decide that Rangernet has no real
value.

Thanks for taking this to a more suitable forum.

I disagree.

In moderation, and with effective supervision,
a child may have fun, but does not need to be
wild. What part of "polite-kind-thoughtfull"
do you find troubleing? When the children came to
Christ, did they yell and stomp and give in to
every fancy, or did they allow Christ to love them?

Perfection is not a virtue, but good behavior is
a learned trait, valuable to ones life success.

That is true with reguard to Rangers only, one hour
a week.. Is that so wrong?

Review if you will section one of the LTC.

This is why we have age related boys in seperate
outposts with different leaders. The differing ages
are seperated for a Godly reason...much as the reasons
we keep girls from Ranger events.

I am very aware of that, and also the ability of the
boys to beleve in the golden rule "as my daily rule"

If then, we wish others to treat us well, we must then
treat them well to find favor. We have found a way to
weed out the real Rangers from those that would gain
from a free form youth meeting.

*No- I allow them to participate in discussions but
the final decision must bless the church, the parents
and then the boys. The parents rights are fundimental
to the success of any group. What we have done is
build
their trust, and aline them with the desires of
Pastor.

In the past- the Ranger leaders did as they pleased.
Today we are united behind the pastoral staff and
their vision for our fellowship.

How did I do that?

Surely you do not propose that RR is the ONLY ministry
that can reach, teach and keep a BOY for Christ.

That was the sticking point with Pastors staff,
prior to the re-oraganization. They wanted RR
to work hand in hand with Youth and Childrens
Dept.

The un-saved boy comes and choses to
stay with Rangers or go with the Youth.

Both ways he is ministered too.

I'm sure you are in shock for the moment, and
when you think through things you will see that what
we did was for the good of the boys and the church,
and
will cause us to prosper.

If I could get a grasp on what the criticizum is..
perhaps I could share that with pastor and he might
advise me in how to proceed.
