Let's be clear as to what I find troubleing about
mixing older boys with the younger. I'm sure I've
not seen the very best conduct from older Rangers.

They find they can push, shove and be rude, and
young impressionalble boys find that scary. At
the pinewood derby I attended, the Commanders
yelled to be heard above the noise of the race.

Holding seperate events that are age approprate,
will prevent a young boy from being under foot to
the older boy, and allow them to play age approprate
team games, or adventure based events.

A Ranger must be polite, kind and thoughtfull at all
times.

What I see here is a no-nonsense kind of guy that expects
kids to be perfect.  Well, they aren't.  They are KIDS!
And the little guys and big guys need to learn about each
other together.  Your attitude and ideas would prevent an
older boy from playing with or even being in the same room
as his younger brother.

Rude behavior, domination, and lack of intrest
displayed in the older boys is childish. Removeing
them increases the participation of the young Ranger,
and that is my goal.

Of course it is childish.  You are dealing with children.

I'm open to facts, but not to emotional outbursts.

If in fact our older boys wanted to race Pinewood,
they may!

But it is obvious that you discourage them from doing so.

The older matureing boy has differing needs, skills
and intrests to explore. We've decided he does not
have the time to invest in a Pinewood derby when
challengeing merits are availible, with others of
his own age and like minded intrest.

You previously stated that if they want to, they may.
But you have in your own statement hereby declared the
decision to be out of their hands.  Doesn't that bother you?

Such events are not to dominate the Outpost or
it's mission.  My older boys thanked me for working
to remove the ditractions of non-participating
boys in their group who are not serious about the
Royal Ranger program. *Their parents back me and
as I have said, so does my Pastor.

Here is the biggest and most painful statement you have made.
Royal Rangers is a ministry!  It is designed to Reach, Teach
and Keep boys for Jesus Christ.  In one flat statement, you
have just eliminated the unsaved boy and any other boys who
have a balanced life and for whom Royal Rangers is a part
but not the most important part of their life.

Dear sir, if the unsaved boys and the boys who don't live for
Rangers are a distraction to you and you outpost, then you
need some serious prayer time to re-consider your ministry goals...
