Read Matt. 28:18-20. Then read this: Reach, teach, and keep boys for Christ. The Great Commission and the purpose of Rangers. Striking similarities. Almost synonymous. I don't care how it's done, what requirements there are, what we wear when we do it, what we call it, who likes it and who don't like it. I don't care whether the military approves or disapproves. (Although I'd prefer to leave them out of any certification processes, or any other phase of developmental and decision making processes, lest we have a "don't ask, don't tell" policy for leaders.) I don't even care how they view our advancement system in terms of recruiting purposes, because if we do our job, we will help to prepare these boys for whatever endeavors they choose to pursue in life, and have no need to tailor our method of operation to suit any given party except that of the Kingdom of God. I belive that one trick the enemy uses against this Kingdom of God is to get it's solidiers to loose focus on thier primary purpose (Matt. 28:18-20) and to instead concentrate thier time and efforts toward quibbling over the minute and irrelevant details.

*Thanks for the input..
Here's more fuel for the back burner<G>
In my mind if a Ranger received the GMA and found that the GMA could not meet the same test as the BSA Eagle with respect to equalivancy...ther'd be disappointment is sure.
It's un-likely that a GMA would be challenged, as we rarely socialize with the BOY SCOUTS and the subject is somewhat subjective to both parties, persons involved and regional differences..
My Sr.Commader "Dad" would have welcomed a challenge to me as a boy to "put the spurs to his son" to stand and deliver a powerfull defence of the 4 RED points to the 'secular humanist scouters!<G> and anyone I might encounter, for as Bible beleveing HolyGhost filled people.. We carry a marked difference from "the world" and someone might get saved!
*I had beleved that my Ranger experiance was in "quality equal" even though I did not know how to compare experiances.., but that also wearing the RR emblem had a Testimony for Christ attached. *Because of that, I did not expect favor at time of induction to the US Military. I did not see RR as a pre-curser to service in the Military, and now as a Vet detest the notion.
However, if I *claimed the GMA as 'equal.. and was denied..
I believe they (*GMA) would rightfully deserve an explanation for the shortcoming. Has RR in anyway *promised eqialivancy?
As I read this do you say,it is the US Military who is responsible to certify the equivalency? Do they judge equavilency based on RR requirements posted in the Gold Track, and Cdr.Marriot has as set a goal to fully meet BSA Eagle standards?
What is not addressed is a national standard for the fullfillment of those requirements by a Ranger/Commander,and a system that would allow a Ranger to transfer from region to region and find a papertrail to back his claim to the award.
*I beleve there is an issue of ingegrity at stake, and it should not rest with just the signature of any Commander. It should be a process of several trained leaders.
It should be open to review, even proveable within reason and documented to assure the Ranger has met the challenge *No-more and *No-less than what the authors of the advancement trail intended. Currently that is not a priority.
In practical terms, Cdr.Marriot submits a revised requirement trail for the US Millitay to certify, but no Ranger boy or Commander is required to meet that requirement standard.
