Clint..

*Great commision, then you say: "I don't care how it is done"

I'm reflecting of what the "BOY" expects while standing in
line at the outpost meeting. *He expects an "adventure" and
not a boreing lecture, such as is common to MEN!
Duane. I have noticed no such reflection in the string of posts that I am responding to. I have only noticed that you don't seem to be very satisfied with what Royal Rangers is.
So if the task.. is to move the boy to action.
from childhood to "Christian warrior" why do we use
"scouting techniques" that in your opinion are secondary
to the primary commission?
Duane, this is not opinion, it is the Word of God. EVERYTHING is secondary.
My contention is that in *play a boy finds the call of
who he will become. This is his choice, and we stand
with him in that discovery.
With whom are you contending? I have read nothing in this string of posts refuting this.
To do this with a *plan.. may be called "program"
but is in no way secondary to *ministry. Just as
the understanding of the CODE unfolds with maturity,
we taylor the Ranger experiance to pay out in the
future as well as the present.
The two, which you have separated into what you call "program" and "ministry" are one in the same. "Developing the Total Boy in Christ" is how my bumper sticker puts it. Nor do I recollect giving priority to one over the other because I never separated the two, they are both accomplished in Matt. 28:18-20.
It is not a trick of the enemy to discuss the footprint
Royal Rangers makes on the heart of the boys.. It is not
quibbleing over trivia,  or wasteing time on minute and
irrelevant details. GMA #3911 talks to me all the time
about such matters of the heart.
The trick of the enemy is to get people to contend over a bone that does not exist. Just like the dog that saw his reflection in the water, and dropped his bone in it to get the other dog's bone. He lost what he had over what was not there. And this, my friend, is where the purpose of reaching, teaching, and keeping boys for Christ has been lost.
*I hear you.. and ask you to desern reason in our purpose.
