Cdr.Mark..

Rather than being un-kind I read a loyal Ranger
and believer in the Ministry and program as it
stands..

Where I differ is in detecting some dis-information
as to the success of Royal Rangers in public life.

*My Ranger heritage tends to promote being 'set-apart
from the world, and letting the world go it's own way..
Thus.. I was NOT a scout.. but a Royal Ranger!

*However-

Comments such as: "Royal Rangers is the fastest growing
boys organization in the USA" do not have facts behind
the statement. I think this is over zelious salesmanship
to a closed society.

I've been told that RR is larger than BSA.. *better ect.
and it is my experience that those sentiments do not follow
into Boy Scout circles!

There- I discovered little knowledge of RRangers but honest
sentiment to extend the hand of fellowship to RR...

To a BSA mindset.. The RRanger program is linked to a separation
for religious doctrine like is the case for Latter Day saints. In
shareing the Ranger *program the general reation was a disappointment
that we could not join in their cause... and maintain our convictions!

*To my surprise I was with "christian brothers" from outside
my AG church, and they agreed with the intent of RR.. but
explained a different view. We in RR have accused them of
"being secular minded" and that is a half-truth.

Around a scout campfire I explained the entire reasoning for
RR not joining in with the Scouts and it sounded somewhat hollow
outside of ERG fellowship. Here's why...

Scouting wants to promote a boy to invest in his own church
and it's doctrine. In addition it teaches *respect for others
faith. With this respect a Scout finds a duty to self, others
and to God!

*Our desire to preach the un-hindered Gospel of Jesus, in uniform
to the boys, supersedes the doctrine of *respect for anothers
faith. *I'm sure you agree. The decision is not with the boy,
but with the organizational level of Royal Rangers.

I find we have more in common today than ever!
