A good analogy which can be extended. If we have
counterfeit currency there is a tendency to spend it because of the "pleasure"
it can bring us and hope we do not get caught. There is pleasure in sin for a
season but it is a counterfeit and will not satifsy in the end.

Amen!
Do you know how banks teach tellers to recognize
counterfeit currency? They do it by having them study and handle the real
thing so much that they notice when something is wrong. In the same way, if we
teach and model the truth, then the children we teach will be able to easily
spot a lie when we they encounter one. Just teach the Holy Bible and live a
godly life all of the time so that they may know the truth and be set free by
it.

Obviously we need to learn more and stretch our wings and
intellect as we grow in the Lord and in our personal walks, but we re
talking about kids here.
We don t
have to lie to our kids to teach them it s wrong, and we don t have to
subject them to false doctrine for them to be able to recognize the
difference between what they re being taught at church and by their
parents.
To do so
would invite heretical doctrine into the children s programs that doesn t
have any place there.
I don t
think I could state it any better than Josh except to be sure that we
concentrate on getting the TRUTH taught to these kids. Basic Milk and
Cookies doctrine, no need for Caviar and Crme Brulee at this age.

Brother
Andy,
Got a question here on the above mentioned clipping, "If we
don't teach them about the lies, how will they know to recognize them
and avoid them?" I thought it was necessary to teach them how to
recognize them and then go the opposite direction from them? I mean, we
don't want them to lie, we don't want them to be told lies, but knowing
the difference in what one is would be a good thing, would it not?
God Bless,
