I am no longer a public (or private) school teacher because of my health.
But, having seen first hand what these books can do, I must caution you.  
What goes into a child's precious mind stays there forever.  His brain is the
finest computer ever known and the memory is extensive.  I used to be "sick"
every Halloween at school because I could not in good concience take part of
the festivities.  At Christmas, when I needed books from the school library,
there were only about 12 available, where at Halloween, there were hundreds.

Giving a cute personality and face to Sabrina or Harry or others, and making
some of it into cartoon mode, does not change the fact that it is ungodly and
should not be part of a Christian life.  I have seen first hand what these
things can do, when a sweet girl in my church had three demons cast out of
her.  I was the one with her at the altar when it happened, and it is not
entertaining, it is heart breaking;  It was not my only experience with
deliverance.  I have spent too much time holding a mother in my arms whose
child has committed suicide over these things.  That has happned more than
once also.  Pokemon, Ouija, Masters of the Universe, Dungeons, and many more
have promoted as harmless toys, but each carries it's own message.  I am a
firm believer in sitting down and watching your kids' programs with them.  
Choose what they watch, listen to and read.  They are your children and your
rangers, they are your responsibility before God.

Please forgive the harsh sound to this letter, it is not a flame, it is
concern.  I've seen too much in my 500 yrs and know a few things.  Other
people do not love your children like you do.  Be sensitive.  Too many don'ts
and not enough do's don't work  When they were tiny you gave them something
when you had to take something away for their safety.  Do it now.  Find
something else.  Frank Perretti's kids books are marvelous.  They have
everything Harry Potter has, but the Christian comes out the victor over
Satan.

You all who know me, know I am not usually like this, but children are a big
thing with me.  Save a man, save a soul.  Save a child, save a life.  Janet
