I have two wheelsets for my Hunq. One set uses 27mm rims for 50-55mm tires
the other narrower for 38-40 mm tires. In the winter, I run 45mm studs on
the narrower rims for most icy conditions, but switch to Fat Alberts for
the snowier days. In the summer I use 38mm Marathons most of the time, but
switch to the Alberts for single tracking. I set the brakes for the wider
rims and use the barrel adjusters to narrow them down when necessary. It
does make the bike more versatile.
