i now have 4 bikes in the house that take 700c wheels. i never swap wheels
between the bikes :). I could since each one has slightly different tires,
but i'm with Tom that i could change a tires in 10-15 minutes and rarely am
i in the situation that i need to change tires every few days. I could
switch wheels to go from a 'light set' to a 'burly set' but again, i'm not
fast enough that a light set would make a difference or heavy enough that i
need something heavy duty so all my wheels are more towards the middle
anyway. Now like Tom, i have too many bikes so instead of having extra
wheels i have extra-bikes too, so that may skew my opinion.

Another situation i'd present is the Dyno-wheel one, i know some people
have only 1 dyno wheel and swap between bikes, but that to me is like a
light you move between bikes, you have to plan ahead of time knowing you
will need lights. If you have the means, i'd prefer to have them all the
time (again for me i'm ignoring the 'penalty' of a dyno wheel).

To me, swapping wheels between bikes makes sense on paper but i'm too lazy
and have the space (ha) for the extra bikes so in practice i could not do
it. if you're more disciplined, i think you could make it worthwhile.
