when I mentioned fiber filled, I was thinking of the plastic used in the lower
cost RC helicopters.  The stuff is amazingly tough to stand up to serious
vibration and flying stresses.  I've seen plastic heli's crash and survive
where a carbon frame heli would be destroyed.

A tank hull would not be any more complex, perhaps even simpler than an RC
heli frame.

it would be very costly for the injection plastic for a hull due to the
large sizes and thickness of the panels. if anything, fiberglass hulls would be
the way to go.

someone said something about possibly adding fiberglass to the tracks to
make them stronger, i don't think that is possible with injection plastic
as the plastic in it's liquid state isn't thin enough to properly flow
through the cloth and fill the plug properly. that and it if didn't work,
they couldn't just try to recycle the used plastic do to it now having a
foreign
matter in it.

at this point for the tracks, going the way Frank has done it is the most
practical way at this point.

Doug, if you want any help or tips or anything, just give me a shout. too
bad i still wasn't further back east or i'd offer to stop by and help.

I do have a small container of black tint/die. if you want, i'll look for a
small container and send you some to mix into your resin so you can make some
grayish tracks rather than white (at least i'm guessing what's in the basement
is still good, should be...).
