Having owned a V12 Jaguar XJS convertible, I can rightly say that the UK builds junk also. All countries build junk, especially in the old days. As far as under-sprung, under-damped, no cornering, etc. What Europeans typically fail to grasp is that Americans spend a whole lot more time in their cars than their counterparts in more densely populated countries. In many areas we practically live in the damned things. In that environment a slightly more cushy ride is most welcome!
