There used to be a HUGE difference between a Ford sold (and possibly built) 
in the UK and one built in the US. Even if the name was the same (Escort, 
for example) the car was different. Often TOTALLY different.  I doubt any 
US built Ford has ever been officially sold in the UK. You see the 
occasional Mustang specially imported but that's about it. Basically more 
european style Fords are now sold in the US (Focus for example).
