Isn't 4.5 just amazing. The compile was so fast that you could test
the syntax of your code by compiling and running the who;e binary.
Not only that, but you could modify the code of a running application.
What a pity RB2006 had lost the most brilliant features of the old compiler.

Yes, yes! Absolutely! After the changeover I was crushed. At that
time I looked around for folks saying and feeling the same way, but
didn't really see much dissent. I felt like the kid in the story
about the Emperor's new clothes. It seems to be in the nature of tech
stuff that it is really not possibly to effectively say "wait, the old
version was better, let's roll it back". In my opinion the same thing
happened in the windows world going from vb6 to vb.net. And then
there are the changes in runrev... I just accepted that I have aged
out of the range of keeping up with all the latest. I guess at a
certain age one loses the ability to adequately judge "better". I
console myself by pretending its just young clueless fanbois that
don't have any depth of experience with which to judge as I dodder off
into oblivion. Meanwhile, I knock out my apps quickly with instant
"compiles" and runtime changes and do some sci-fi reading with the
rest of my time.

It was great to hear your opinion!

Best regards!
