> $500 per server isn't just a few bucks for an unknown product compared > to Postgres of MySQL: > >> Actually the Real DB server is much more expensive than industry standard MySQL. With MySQL they only have to pay once for lifetime but with Real they pay annually. Consider also that MySQL is valuable for marketing purposes (I continue to hear disparging remarks toward Real Basic from people who know I am developing in it.) Also, you can use MySQL legally for free on your own computer for getting your system together and testing before going commercial, whereas you need to pay to develop on the Real Server. I am really sad to see this because I was really hoping the Real server would be the product I was looking for. I am a loyal Real customer, but with deals like this Valentina and MySQL look much more enticing. _______________________________________________ Unsubscribe or switch delivery mode: <http://www.realsoftware.com/support/listmanager/>
