I have a couple that work well too. The problem is that Adaptec
changes their BIOS's and card specs within the the same card model
number. Since they do not release their specs to the Linux community,
the Linux driver for 2940 may or may not work with a particular 2940
card. I have to make it clear that Adaptec has vowed to correct this
situation and seems willing to work with the Linux community. The
level of cooperation remains to be seen, but I hope that it does happen
so that I can feel good about recommending Adaptec controllers to
people.
