*sigh* I have done both of these things, but to no avail. Here is the problem
specifically. I start up usernet, and press the ppp0 button. The indicator turns
yellow, and the modem dials. After that, everything freezes, essentially. I cannot
use the usernet interface at all once I start it, and need to use the kill wand on
it. Any serial operations I try (ftp, ping, telnet) all freeze, returning nothing
while the modem is connected. After waiting for more than five minutes, I
eventually use the ppp-off command (at least this works correctly :-P).
What can I do about this? I have removed the default gateway (should I keep the
gateway device? Neither config seems to work) and added the nameservers. Where do
the debug logs go? This seems to be the only thing left to check. Thank you all
for your help.
