I wouldn't put too much weight behind "class" as a trade demotivator.
Remember Arroyo's hometown discount and subsequent trade.  Now THAT was
classless.

As for Smoltz, who cares if he wanted to be a trade chit.  As they told
Crash Davis, "You get to come to the ballpark each day and get paid for
doing it."
