FA signings are a crap-shoot at the best of times. Theo is on the hook for all of these except Valentine and Bailey (which, in all fairness, can't be judged an early failure yet). And at the time, I think they issue with the others was simply the size of the contracts, not bringing the player to Boston per se.... But I do think that Lucchino is taking advantage of the power vacuum and is much more involved - see: Valentine, Bobby. But I also think it is true the between NASCAR and Liverpool, John Henry is certainly distracted. And his wife is distracting as well, I am sure..... The FO is definitely in a bit of a mess right now for sure.
