Nope no copper that was the first thing I tested for with two different
test kits.  No I have never had anyone test the nitrite besides myself. 
I thought that something must be killing the bacteria too but what would
do that?  The part that doesn't make since is that it has been this way
for about four months.  By that time anything that was decaying would be
decayed now things should be back to normal right.  I guess I am going
to get some macro algae and try that.  I don't have the money to get any
live sand yet and it will more than likely be a couple of months before
I have the money to do that.  I could add a few small pieces of live
rock though nothing huge just 5 or 10 lbs.
