Thiel's X-phosphate is a very good product as is Seachem and Kent. Do NOT run 
any of these longer than directions state. Also. if phosphates are being 
absorbed you can expect a slight reduction in dKH as well. It should not be 
dramatic, should not affect pH, and should be easy to correct. I think all 
these 'sponges' of cracked ceramic are all the smae thing. You can regenerate 
it for future use but it will not have the original 'punch'. Good luck!
