Ok, I don't mind learning. What books do kids have to read that are questionable in your eyes?
I go to the local Borders and Barnes & Nobles and they have a section for school reading. I've seen Shakespeare, mostly "Romeo and Juliet." "The Grapes of Wrath" and "East of Eden" are always there. "The Song of Solomon" and "The Color Purple" are visible. They might be the texts you have a problem with. I have seen "Fountain Head" and "Anthem" also. No kid should have to suffer through that. ;-) --- [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > In a message dated 1/3/2002 4:14:59 PM Eastern > Standard Time, > [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: > > > > Gary, you might just be surprised at the > double-standards which exist in > > modern public schools, when it comes to matters of > "offensive" or > > questionable racial materials and remarks.... > > > > But that's another debate entirely. > > > > As a teacher and counselor who's been in inner city > schools for most of my 20 > years of education, I can say that Gary obviously > doesn't know what passes > for accepted curriculum in some areas..but I agree > that it's another debate > entirely..... > __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
