Brian and All,

I have 3 Maxtracs UHF full duplex links that I use. I use 2 radios at each
end of the link. The TX Power is set at 10-12 watts out into a 25 watt 10dB
pad to get about 1 watt to the duplexer. I get about 600mW out to the
antenna. I run these on an modem at 9600 baud. They work great and I have
not had any problems out of the radios. I do use a fan to keep everything
cool. I can't say that for the power supply. I did have to get a 20 amp p/s
and have not had any problems.

It take 4 radios for each link. I paid less than $25.00 for each radio and
have about $250 in each link. Radio, power supply, duplexer, antenna and
modem.

Distance for these links is about 1 mile, thus the low power to the antenna.
Only use what is required for communications.

Charles Miller
