If you have a 25 Watt Maxtrac, GM300, CDM750, CDM1250, etc. They were all sold as 1 - 25 watts, this means that you can set those ones most anywheres you like. I have several 25 watt radios as link radios. At least one of them is set to 2 watts, and the other is at 15.

Hi Brian,

In my years as a tech at a Mot MSS, we were told that most Motorola
PA's perform to spec until about 50% rated power. For a 25W radio, I
have run them at 10W with no problems. At 10W, with a good fan, I'd
say a Maxtrac/Radius mobile would probably be ok for continuous duty.

Hi All

Here is a simple question or two. Consider these questions for both

VHF/UHF. These questions are based with the idea of using a maxtrac
as a low power
(2-10 watt) link.
Can a maxtrac, (unlike a Micor) be turned down in power without
bothering
the finals?
