OK. Well, it doesn't respond to any single bytes like the FT-8500 (I happen to have an interface for that radio & the data input to the G707 happens to be on the same line, so spinning through all 256 bytes was an easy, though unfruitful exercise). If handshaking is required to get the radio to do anything, I'm SOL for the moment as this particular TM-G707 has been modified for CTCSS output, & that mod. breaks the serial input connection to the radio.
