    @mateiz on this one - it's worth thinking about a few options - one is that 
we do something potentially hacky where we have two different versions of the 
source code and do some magic to decide which to compile (for scala 2.10 vs 
2.11). We can present a source code compatible version where people will only 
have to recompile if they want to have 2.11 support, which will mean they have 
to recompile anyways.
    
    Another is that we could just push this change in the 1.1 release to "get 
it over with" and explain it's a breaking change for the purpose of 2.11 
support.
