This might be a little off topic but I think it should be factored in that the Jews were Egyptians and not Egyptian slaves as once taught.
They lived in a suburb of Egypt and each suburb had its local customs. They then decided to leave Egypt and joining them were others from different suburbs but the Jews did not mind.
