Another good idea. That would make them communicate, wouldn't it. Or they
would eventually kill each other and there would be no problem. I think
seriously, any conflict can be resolved if there is a serious desire to do
so. What should be mandated here is a World Court order issued on
authority of the United Nations for the parties to meet in the Hague or in
NY or anywhere under the auspices of the mediators assigned by the UN or
Court and made to meet until the issue is resolved. If the parties attempt
to leave they should be arrested and kept incarcerated. The parties should
be expelled from the world body and have no standing there. This should
apply to anywhere there is conflict - whether it is Israel or the U.S. or
Gabon or Nigeria. Where ever there is conflict all weapons should be
confiscated from warring parties. This should be the function of
peacekeepers -- an army of the UN to FORCE compliance.
I am only touching on this topic but have a lot more to say about it and
will later. In fact if you feel ambitious and someone here wishes to
pursue this, we can write a peace plan for the United Nations. It makes no
sense to me that a conflict can simmer for years like this one with Israel
and her neighbors and with the Palestinians without resolution .. even one
that is forced on them. It makes no sense to me that terrorism by
organizations and terrorism by states would be tolerated, that preemption
can be used by any sovereign against the sovereign anywhere else.
Preemption is premeditated war and inexcuseable. It cannot be justified.
All we get are polemics to justify criminality and human rights abuses.
It has got to stop.
