Hmm. I can't even stop people posting attachments, and now you ask me to hunt the Snark*. There may be trouble deciding between necessary and unnecessary snarkiness... and then defining the threshold... How about that for a good example of a snarky comment :-) ...sorry... > Jon... nicely illustrated... by posting an interesting link... Actually I think Jon was being a little snarky himself. He thinks he already knows how to extract single crystal data from powder samples, using the SR methods to which he refers. And he's right in principle :-) If you have enough intensity you can collect single crystal data from individual powder grains, or even individual molecules with a FEL. The days of (x-ray) "powder diffraction" may indeed be numbered :-) Alan * http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hunting_of_the_Snark ______________________________________________ * Dr Alan Hewat, NeutronOptics, Grenoble, FRANCE * <[email protected]> +33.476.98.41.68 http://www.NeutronOptics.com/hewat ______________________________________________
